Qualified time stamp

Digital evidence that ensures that data exists and has not been modified from a specific point in time.

What it consists of and what it is used for

The timestamp service (TSS) is a system that ensures that data exists and has not been modified from a specific date and time.

This is accomplished associating the data at the exact time instant by the electronic signature of our Time Sealing Authority (TSA). The result is what is known as an electronic timestamp.

The qualified name means that our electronic timestamps have the highest legal recognition in European level. That is, they enjoy the presumption of accuracy of the date and time they indicate and the integrity of the data to which the date and time are linked.

This service is free of charge for personal use (citizens) and in two payment methods for professional use (Business, Public Administration, etc.).

What benefits does it have for you?

  • Legal validity
  • Protect your data from changes
  • Make sure they exist from a date and time

If your use is personal, you can start using our time-stamping service setting it up in your applications. If your use is professional, hire the service first.

How to use Time Stamping

The service follows the specifications of RFC 3161, encapsulated over HTTP, which basically defines the following process:

- The user sends the summary or hash of the data you want to seal to the Time Sealing Authority (TSA).

- The TSA takes the summary of the user’s data, the date and time of that moment with great accuracy and reliability, generates the time stamp by signing all this information and forwarding it to the user.

To perform this process the usual thing is that the user uses applications that already implement the standard - such as Adobe Reader if set up correctly and what we want is to seal a PDF - or you develop your own applications based on libraries that have methods that implement this functionality - such as the libraries for Java Arangí developed by the ACCV.

The price of this service varies depending on the mode you choose. Write to gestioncerts@accv.es indicating the details of your institution, as well as the method you wish to contract and we will send you the budget adjusted to what you are looking for.

If I browse the service’s website, nothing comes out

The time stamping service is provided by HTTP, but it is not a web site. You must use it from an application that allows it, configuring it and facilitating the data to be sealed through it.
