Get the citizen certificate

The issuance and renewal of digital certificates will, as a general rule, be free of charge. If any misuse of the service is detected, Istec reserves the right to charge the user a processing fee of €3 (VAT included). For these purposes, misuse of the service will be considered to occur where the same user requests more than two certificates within a three-month period.

To obtain the certificate, you must first identify yourself at a Registration Point (PRU).

If you select issuance on a cryptographic card, please note that the physical medium carries an additional cost, which will be shown to you before completing the purchase.

As an alternative, you can obtain your certificate in software format through video identification, without the need to travel to a Registration Point.

    Fill in and submit the web form

  • Your personal data will be printed on the card, which will be sent by courier to the address you provide. Any error in this information is your responsibility.

    Make the payment for the certificate.

  • 3

    Once the application has been registered, the ACCV has up to 15 working days to attend to it.

    When you receive the card, you must go to a PRU to activate it.

    Once activated, check that you have it installed on your computer.

What is the certificate for citizens and the self-employed?

While you use your handwritten signature and your physical identity document in person, our Citizen Certificate will allow you to complete these procedures in digital environments.

This is a digital credential that will identify you, allow you to give your consent, express your will or authorize, securely by electronic means.

This certificate is valid. 3 years and can be renewed online for another 3 years.

Software support

This certificate is the most versatile. It can be downloaded to your computer and installed on as many devices as required. The issuance and renewal of digital certificates will, as a general rule, be free of charge. It is valid for three years and may be renewed online for an additional three-year period.

Cryptographic card support

The safest support. The certificate is born and dies inside the card, without the possibility of exporting it. You will need a card reader to use on your computer. It is valid for 3 years and you can renew it online.

You can apply for your citizen certificate in software at your nearest registration point (PRU).

If you request it on a cryptographic card, you must go to the PRU to have your certificate activated on it.
