What steps are required to obtain the software-based certificate?

Identify yourself at your PRU and receive your Generation Code via SMS or on paper, depending on the chosen method. Download the certificate and install it following the manuals. If you have an e-DNI or a personal certificate from ACCV, you can obtain the software-based certificate through your personal area (APSC).

You can also identify yourself via video, without the need to travel, but this service will have an associated cost.

What steps are required to obtain the card-based certificate?

Request it through this website. Within a few days, you will receive the blank card, and you only need to go to a PRU to activate it. Remember to install it on your device once it is activated.

How do I download the software-based certificate?

You will receive your Generation Code, a 10-character alphanumeric code, after identifying yourself in person at your PRU or if you have identified yourself via video and your request has been successfully resolved.

This code will be sent to you via SMS or on paper, depending on the chosen method, and will expire 15 calendar days after its issuance. Use it as soon as possible to download your certificate. For the download, consult our manuals and guides.

Remember that if you have an e-DNI or a personal certificate from ACCV, you can obtain the software-based certificate through your personal area (APSC).

What is the Generation Code?

The Generation Code is a unique 10-character identifier sent to you via SMS or on paper, depending on the chosen method, after identifying yourself at the PRU or via video.

It is case-sensitive and serves to securely download your certificate from the generation portal. Do not delay, as it expires after 15 days.

My Generation Code has expired.

We regret this. If you obtained it at a Registration Point, you will need to identify yourself in person again to request a new code.

If you obtained it through video identification, you will need to pay for a new process to obtain a new code.

The previous code cannot be reactivated, as this is an irreversible security measure. Additionally, the cost of the previous video identification will not be refunded.

How do I install my card-based certificate?

We will send you the blank card, and the holder must go to a Registration Point (PRU) to load the certificate onto it. Once loaded, follow our installation manuals.

I get an error when downloading the certificate.

The only solution is to obtain a new certificate.

Remember that it is free if obtained at a Registration Point (PRU). If you do it via video ID, you will have to go through the process from the beginning and pay the fee. The previous request will not be refunded.

Where can I find a Registration Point (PRU)?

The list of our PRUs is available here.

How do you identify yourself at the PRU?

The main documents that allow you to identify yourself are a DNI, NIE, Spanish driver’s license, or valid Spanish passport. If your case is different, read the information detailed in this document.

I cannot go to the PRU. What should I do?

You can identify yourself via video, although this service has an associated cost. If you have an e-DNI or a personal certificate from ACCV, you can obtain the software-based certificate through your personal area (APSC).

Another person can also go on your behalf if they provide a notarized power of attorney or a specific clause in a notarized power of attorney that expressly authorizes them to obtain the digital certificate on your behalf. They must provide your data and accept the contract conditions on your behalf. You can find a sample clause here.

My certificate is about to expire. How do I renew it?

The first time after obtaining it, you can renew it from your personal area (APSC), before it expires, i.e., during the renewal period, which is 70 days before the expiration date.

If it has already expired, or if you last renewed it through APSC, you will need to renew it in person at a PRU or request a new one by following the steps outlined in “What steps are required to obtain the software-based certificate?”

I want to cancel my certificate. How do I revoke it?

You can cancel your certificate by calling us at 963 866 014. Or use one of the other options described on this page. Remember, revocation cannot be undone.
